For fifteen years, Moray Concert Brass has been getting people into the Christmas spirit with their charity carol concert and it has now become an established part of the holiday season for many.
This year this festive highlight will take place on Friday 23rd December in Cooper Park at 5:30 pm just outside the library and it will be a great way to start the Christmas weekend in style.
This year the concert is raising money for a cause that is particularly close to home with all donations being given to Ward 5 at Elgin’s Dr Gray’s Hospital.
As always there will be plenty of family favourites being played including: Away in a Manager, O Little Town of Bethlehem and We Three Kings and carol sheets will be handed out in case you can’t remember all the words!
Cobbs Café at the library will be open both before and during the concert for the sale of hot drinks and refreshments so everyone can stay warm whatever the weather.
Donations will be accepted on the gate.
FRIDAY 16th OF DECEMBER 2016 10.00 – 2.30
Elgin Academy is inviting members of the public to come along to their Christmas Farmers’ Market on Friday 16th of December from 10am – 2.30pm.
Our Farmers' Market is run by S2 pupils who take part in all stages of the preparations from developing product ideas, publicity, production of goods for sale, pricing, displaying and selling goods, accounting and banking of monies.
Pupils are currently working very hard to produce products for the market.
The produce will include a variety of sweet treats, jams, chutneys and marmalades, Christmas decorations and craft items and many products new for this year such as dog and cat treats and bird feeders.
They will also be serving fresh fruit and chocolate from the chocolate fountain, running the coffee shop and helping outside stallholders with their stalls.
The Christmas Farmers’ Market is open to members of the public who are invited to come along and support pupils in this enterprise.
There is lots of parking out front and excellent disabled access and if you have not been before our Hall is close to the school entrance.
There will be further variety of goods available to buy as some of the Elgin Farmers’ Market stallholders come into school to show and sell their own products.
