Come along and find out more about roller derby and how you can get involved.
Helgin are currently recruiting new skaters, referees, and non-skating officials to help build a team to compete nationally.
This FREE event will involve learning some basic skating skills and enjoying a wee roller disco, as well as a brief introduction to the game and a demonstration of gameplay.
It's open to anyone, aged 16+, and no skating skill is required - we all started as beginners, and we'll teach you the skills you need to play.
Skates, helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards are all provided; so all you need to bring is enthusiasm, a bottle of water and perhaps a mouth guard (required for training, and recommended for the taster session - available in Asda, Sports Direct and Tesco for around £5).
Comfortable sports clothing is recommended, but not too baggy around your feet - leggings are the perfect skating attire!
Saturday 26th August
Cullen Town Hall
The Kronach Youth Orchestra are playing a concert as part of their tour of the north-east on Saturday 26th August from 7pm at Cullen Town Hall.
Entrance is free but donations are welcome.
